Assemblyman V. Manuel Pérez’s Enterprise Zone bill, AB 1411 passed through the Senate Transportation & Housing Committee yesterday on a 9-0 vote. The hearing can be seen here (beginning at about 1:30 into the video).
In his introductory comments, Assemblyman Pérez said that he was accepting amendments proposed in the Committee’s analysis, namely:
1. To remove language requiring that hiring credit vouchers be approved or denied based upon the regulations and administrative memoranda in effect on the date of application based on concerns related to FTB’s actual authority over the vouchering process.
2. To insert language which would limit the size of future zones that overlap in any part an expiring zone (similar language exists in AB 231).
Senator Rubio requested to be added as a co-author of the bill.
