The Desert Sun had an extensive story on Sunday describing some of the local ramifications of the end of the Enterprise Zone program:
In 2003, guitar string maker Ernie Ball specifically opened a second location in Coachella in addition to its San Luis Obispo office to hire people who qualified for the tax credit. Ernie Ball next year won’t have the roughly $30,000 tax credit it once counted on for each of its workers, said CFO Cary Grenrock.
“If we expand, we’ll consider other locations,” possibly out of California, Grenrock said.
