The following are Enterprise Zone related stories that have appeared over the last week or so:

CAEZ President Craig Johnson had an Op-Ed published in the Contra Costa Times where he discussed the demise of AB 1278 and said:

If legislators want to find a way to improve the state’s economy, attacking the Enterprise Zone program and it’s job-creating incentives, only diverts their attention from addressing the real impediments to turning around the state’s economic climate.

Speaking of AB 1278, the Mercury-News had a story about labor groups suing to keep VWR from relocating its business from Brisbane to Visalia.

The Chambers of Commerce in both Brawley and Calexico issued press releases praising Assemblyman Manuel Perez for stopping AB 1278.

Both San Bernardino and Los Angeles celebrated new businesses in their Enterprise Zones.
